Isle of Man-based gaming provider, Microgaming achieved major success with their Castle Builder slot, which was regarded as a next-generation slot. The game was released in 2013 and was nominated for the EGR’s Game of The Year award the same year. Part of its success lay in its design, which incorporated both online gaming and social gaming aspects. Castle Builder was, and is still, regarded by many as Microgaming’s best slot ever. And now, Castle Builder II is on the way. At ICE 2017, which took place in London back in February, Microgaming announced that the follow-up to their hugely successful slot would be released in April 2017. Castle Builder II is expected to be better both in terms of game-play quality, bonus features, and winnings. And it better be if Microgaming plans to continue their stay at the top for the rest of the year.
As it turns out, Castle Builder II was not really built by Microgaming but by up-and-coming Vienna-based games developer, Rabcat. The two companies apparently have an exclusive partnership in which Microgaming markets and distributes Rabcat games. Rabcat CEO Thomas Schleischitz while breaking the news on the upcoming release, remained upbeat that Castle Builder II will meet everyone’s expectations.
The game will be available in all online casinos affiliated with Microgaming upon its release and will be playable on both desktop and mobile platforms.
More characters, more castles, more wins
Castle Builder II is set to have slightly more characters, more castles to build, and more ways to win than its popular predecessor. The new slot takes players through a journey of adventure and discovery as they seek to collect enough building materials to complete their castles and help the gorgeous princesses from the kingdoms find their charming grooms. More than 300 characters, some of them entirely new and others retained from the original Castle Builder slot, will be making an appearance on the game. Players can also expect to have more winning options as they get to conquer 15 kingdoms and therein build from scratch 75+ castles. Of course, there will be some obstacles along the way but that’s what makes the game fun. By the time you complete all the available castles, you will have won (or lost) quite a tidy sum.
Most of all, what makes Castle Builder II appealing is that it further strengthens the bridge between online and social gaming. Other than that, the visual graphics and gameplay remain mostly unchanged. If you liked the original version you will love this version too.
Castle Builder II Video Game Play
One area that the developers scored high is increasing the number of kingdoms and castles to build. This extends the game play time and eliminates monotony as it gives players more situations and challenges to brace through as opposed to a long, boring storyline.
Castle Builder II also features a number of levels and achievements to unlock in the course of gameplay which gives the game more replay value. Players can keep playing until they unlock the different levels, and achievements and probably even tell their friends about it. This is a definite win for both the casino operators and the developers as more plays mean more revenue. Well played, Microgaming. Or is it Rabcat?
Castle Builder II is basically a re-release of Castle Builder with only a few minor tweaks here and there. The gameplay symbols have not changed much at all although the prizes and awards have increased. Castle Builder II contains symbols like Expanding Wilds, normal Wilds, and a range of Free Spins and bonus games. All these interact flawlessly with the game and give some great rewards.
Castle Builder II is a great slot with a lot of potentials and its success will propel Rabcat to greater heights and most probably set the ground for amazing releases in the future. Whether you played the original version or not, you will surely like this one.
