Little-known Swedish game developer, ELK Studios recently released their latest slot by the name “Sam On The Beach”. This is an addition to their (very) small collection of slots which include Taco Brothers, The Lab, and Champion’s Goal. Sam On The Beach, for those who have followed ELK Studios’ other games, is a sequel to their critically acclaimed slot, Electric Sam. Question is, does this new slot match up to the impressive Electric Sam slot? Read on.
Slot features
As mentioned above, Sam On The Beach is a follow-up to Electric Sam and to the developer’s credit, continues with the storyline. Whereas in Electric Sam it’s all about getting to know Electric Sam and his family – wife Sandra and daughter Maggie – and having a chance to win at their casino deep in Troll Wood, Sam On The Beach follows them on their trip to their Uncle Tom’s Caribbean beach house. Naturally, as with all beach-themed slots, excitement is high on this one, coupled with the fact that there is some eye candy in the form of Maggie and Sandra.
While there is no shortage of classic beach slots by various developers, Sam On The Beach easily stands out due to its sleek design, incredible storyline, awesome prizes, and some impressive bonus features. Talking of prizes and bonuses, Sam On The Beach gives players a chance to win up to 2,000 coins while playing the Free Spins feature. There is also some bonus features integrated into the slot, chief among them being the Electric Treats – also on Electric Sam – which include Respins, Sticky Wilds, Imploding Symbols, and Multipliers.
243 ways to win
ELK Studios got rid of the paylines for this slot and instead went with the 243-ways-to-win formula. What more, players can win up to 300 coins per line – way more than they could win in, say, a 25-payline slot. In a nutshell, when playing this slot, your target should be to make at least 3 similar symbols appear on three consecutive reels and you’re rich. Well, not rich as in wealthy but…you get the drift.
Sticky Wilds
In the bonus rounds, one of the symbols to expect, and hope to see, is the Sticky Wild. To fit the context of the game, they are very closely related to Sam’s Symbols. As such, the Sticky Wilds are triggered when Sam’s Symbol appears at least 3 times on the screen. When this happens, Electric Sam goes into his electric element and randomly replaces a symbol with a Sticky Wild and it’s all sticky from there.
Treats from the wife and daughter
Since this slot is all about a family trip, it is only logical to have each family member give some Treats. In addition to Sam’s Electric treats, you can also expect treats from the gorgeous Maggie and her mother, Sandra. Maggie lights up your world, and your earnings, by launching a set of Imploding Symbols, which basically means you get a Re-spin (which basically means you get to win twice!). To top it all up, Sandra gives out Multipliers of up to 10X, because what’s a Caribbean-themed slot without some Multipliers? Both of these features, along with the Electric Sam Treat are triggered when the corresponding family member symbol appears on the screen. For instance, Maggie treats are launched when 3 or more Maggie symbols appear while the Sandra Multipliers are triggered by the appearance of 3 or more Sandra symbols on the reels.
The only downside with the various Electric Treats is that they are only available during the Free Spins round, which minimizes the excitement and potential wins in a normal round.
Betting Strategies
ELK Studios helps you manage your bankroll by availing several betting strategies namely: Booster, Jumper, and Leveller. Basically, these help you determine what amount to bet between the minimum $0.02 and the maximum $100. In case you are in the dark on how much to wager in various spins, choose one of the three strategies and the algorithms will automatically increase or decrease the bet amount depending on the outcome of the immediate spin(s).
All facts considered, Sam On The Beach, which was launched in February, is, without doubt, one of the best releases of the year and further adds some momentum to ELK Studios’s run to the top.
